KteC Systems
The evolution of KteC Systems has its roots in the academic project work of three (3) graduate students; Emmanuel Odei-Lartery, Osei Amankwah Kwame and Francois Sekyere in partial fulfillment of undergraduate requirement of the Electrical Engineering Department of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi in 2005.
Their project work was on “VOICE OVER INTERNET PROTOCOL (VOIP) WITH SESSION INITIATION PROTOCOL (SIP) ON THE LINUX PLATFORM” which is catching on fast as one of the current global communication technology.
Main Innovation:
The main innovation is the development of a soft phone which enables for VoIP calls on any IP computer network. Features include real time video conferencing, voice mail, and text messaging among others. Voice and video is also compressed thus requiring minimum bandwidth.
Service Description
Voice of Internet Protocol (VOIP):
Ktec provides for Internet Telephony, also called Voice over IP which entails the routing of voice conversations over the Internet or any other IP network.
The voice data flows over a general-purpose packet-switched network, instead of the traditional dedicated, circuit-switched voice transmission lines thus cutting down on communication expenditure.
A category of hardware and software enables people to use the Internet as the transmission medium for telephone calls.
Voice over IP traffic may be deployed on any IP network, including ones lacking an Internet connection, for instance on a private building-wide Local Area Network.
