Landmark Graduation Of BPO Agents
January 1st, 2008The Ghana Multimedia Incubator Centre (GMIC) chalked another success this year by forming a partnership between its Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) training programme and the Ghana Telecom University College (GTUC) to train and certify BPO agents for the first time in Ghana.
The result of this alliance is a value-added training programme, one that is now recognized by the National Accreditation Board of Ghana.
The first batch of BPO trainees graduated in October 2007 during the first graduation ceremony held by the Ghana Telecom University College with certificates in Call Centre Operations as well as Data Entry.
This has proven to be an important step towards increasing the manpower pool of qualified BPO personnel in Ghana and is expected to go a long way towards attracting foreign investment in Ghana’s budding BPO industry.
Rising Data Solutions, a leading BPO outfit operating in the country is currently recruiting from amongst the graduates and has requested for more. The GMIC’s BPO graduates have also found employment in the past in such eminent BPO companies as Exzeed Ghana Limited, ACS and Novel among others.
